Roya Hakakian is a writer, producer, documentary filmmaker, and human-rights activist who has worked with 60 Minutes Sunday, the Discovery Channel, and the Learning Channel. Her memoir of growing up a Jewish teenager in post-revolutionary Iran, Journey from the Land of No, was Elle magazine’s Best Nonfiction Book of 2004. Hakakian is a founding member of the Iran Human Rights Documentation Center and a term member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
