His main research interests include Christian origins, philosophy of religion, and alternative god-concepts such as pantheism and pandeism. He is the coauthor of Jesus Did Not Exist: A Debate Among Atheists (2015) and the author of There Was No Jesus, There Is No God (2013).

It is likely that Jesus was an entirely “mythical” figure that was later historicized, not a mundane historical figure who was later mythicized.
